The Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) offer advanced, international learning experiences focused on the technologies driving the next generation of energy systems. Combining online learning with intensive on-site sessions, these programmes provide a flexible format to deepen both theoretical understanding and practical expertise.

In the 2027 series, participants explore advanced, research-oriented topics in medium-voltage power conversion and control development for future power grids. The programme focuses on MV AC-DC and DC-DC converter topologies, including multilevel and modular structures, as well as their control and modulation strategies. A key emphasis is placed on bridging simulation and real-world deployment through Control-Hardware-in-the-Loop (CHIL) and real-time simulation techniques. Through lectures, simulations, and laboratory work, participants follow the full development workflow—from modelling and code development to real-time validation and debugging—using methodologies applied in modern MVDC research environments. This prepares them to design, test, and validate next-generation power electronic systems for future electrical grids.
